Team Management

NoPII uses role-based access control to manage who can view and modify your organization's settings. Invite team members, assign roles, and control access from the admin console.

Roles

Every organization member has one of three roles:

Owner

Full control over the organization. Can manage billing, change roles, transfer ownership, and delete the organization. Each organization has exactly one owner.

Admin

Can manage PII settings, API key mappings, and team members. Can invite new members and remove non-admin members. Cannot change roles or delete the organization.

Member

Can view and update PII settings and vault configuration. Cannot invite or manage team members.

Admins can remove members but not other admins. The owner must transfer ownership before leaving the organization.

Inviting team members

Admins and owners can invite new members from the admin console. Invitations are sent by email and stay pending until the invitee accepts or declines them.

  1. 1Go to the Members page in the admin console.
  2. 2Enter the email address and click Invite.
  3. 3The invitee receives an email and signs in with that address, which must be verified. The console shows the invitation, and they choose Join or Decline. Nothing is joined until they choose; a declined invitation shows as declined on your Members page.

New members join with the Member role by default. The owner can promote them to Admin from the Members page.

Transferring ownership

Only the current owner can transfer ownership. The transfer is immediate:

  • The new owner gets full control of the organization
  • The previous owner is demoted to Admin
  • Billing responsibility transfers to the new owner

Plan requirements

Team invitations, role management, and ownership transfer require the Pro plan. Free tier organizations are limited to a single owner.
